Giving children access to nature
In celebration of 25 years of Blue Water Shipping in Sisimiut, the local team donated DKK 25,000 from the Blue Water Foundation to Assaqutaq Nuan, a local initiative supporting children in the area.
Assaqutaq Nuan arranges trips for children to a remote, uninhabited village near Sisimiut. The trips give children the opportunity to experience nature, take part in educational and recreational activities, and see more of Green-land.
Esaias and Karoline Lennert from Assaqutaq Nuan expressed their gratitude:
“We are very thankful for the donation. It will help us cover food, fuel, and equipment for the children’s trips, and it will make a real difference to our activities this summer.
Curtis Chapman, Manager at Blue Water Sisimiut, explained the choice of charity:
“After 25 years in Sisimiut, we are part of the community. Supporting Assaqutaq Nuan reflects our close connec-tion to the town and our wish to give something back locally.”
