Gift from the Heart

10 years

– helping children in need

In celebration of Blue Water Chicago's 10th anniversary, Phil Grover, Branch Manager, presented a donation of DKK 10,000 to The Gift from the Heart Foundation, a charity based in Schiller Park, IL. This foundation is dedicated to assisting seriously ill and disabled children from abroad by providing access to medical treatment in the U.S.

Phil Grover explained why they chose this particular charity: "We have chosen The Gift from the Heart Foundation because they have been instrumental in offering life-changing opportunities for children who need advanced medical care. Not all children have access to the specialized facilities and treatments available in the U.S., and this foundation bridges that gap."

The Gift from the Heart Foundation supports children with orthopedic disabilities, providing expert diagnosis and treatment for extremely complicated cases. They also assist children from abroad by offering housing, transportation, and translation services, in addition to supplying medications, rehabilitation equipment, and orthopedic devices. The foundation covers living expenses for both the children and their parents during their stay.

Beyond medical care, the foundation organizes free summer camps for local children with disabilities and provides after-school programs for children with conditions such as autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. These programs are designed to improve their quality of life and overall health.

Reflecting on the donation, Grover added, "It's a real honor to contribute to such an important cause and help change a child’s life. The work that the Blue Water Foundation is doing makes us all proud to be a part of the Blue Water family."
